Do we need a DNA test?

Little Almost Orphan AnnieCat wandered throughout the Mansion, looking for his dad.  He walked aimlessly and checked on every cat he could find.  Every time the question was asked, the answer was the same.  Finally the kitten spotted a big sleepy looking, grumpy cat sitting on the box.

With trepidation, the little cat asked.

"Are you my dad???"

....and that's a little bit sad! :(

Meet Chatty Cat!!

She/he's the one who spent a week in the house, in a box with a towel for a bed.  Everyone knows we don't have house cats, but we had no choice.

It was "do or die"!!

Sometimes a kitten gets kicked out of its family due to health or mental issues.  Cats are like that.....they only feed the strong kittens.  But this one seemed normal, so we were glad when Smoke took it back and is happily feeding it to this day!!  And Chatty talks about it all the time.
Two families have claimed the four kittens, so we won't be spending the summer following their antics........

Who knows where they all are!!

Socks has finally come to his senses and taken a break.  He was abnormally busy this spring and the

Proof is in the Pudding!!

There are signs that most of the Fox Farm Females have kittens at one stage or another - from big like Sid's to very small and mewwy!

We know that OGK has at least two in the barn and one of the younger cats has a couple in a box...as for the rest?

It's all a blur!!!

You could never get a picture like this if you tried, and it's not Photoshop or any other editing program.

The second I pushed the button, Penelope Pepper Face decided to shake the cobwebs out!!

It turned out to be a picture of

Penelope Tornado Face!!

Hahahahahahaha!!

We need a mouse!

Sid's kids - still wary and wild!!

We caught both of them and quietly offered delectable canned cat food.  The little tabby ate half a can before it remembered to run away.

As for the other one?

NO WAY it was eating something not offered by it's mother......

Take it down!! Quick!!

Suddenly Timbit realized the intruder may be after her special Valentine's beads she left hanging on the fence.

With nasty, cold wind and heavy rains, the foals and mother's were confined to the Mansion for about three nights.  This is never comfortable for the cats.  They have a certain schedule and horses totally disrupt their lives.

For instance, the horse stalls have lovely shavings that turn an otherwise normal litter box into something fantastic.  The problem?

How can you get comfortable with the task at hand when a 1200 pound horse with four very hard feet is about to step right in the spot you chose?

No forwarding address.....:

Sorry for the delay......again!  We've been so busy with mares foaling, cats queening, dogs barking and the Colt Starting Clinic for four days last weekend that the "blogosphere" has been ignored.  Anyway, here's our latest treasure found in Barn Cat Mansion.  Oh....forgot to mention that we fed one of these for a week while it's mother tried to abandon it!!
She moved and left it behind 3 times!

Keep your fingers crossed!

It seemed that within hours, we went from winter to a hint of summer. The temperature soared and leaves popped to give the landscape a hint of green.
We won't get too happy until after this May long weekend.  It's notorious for mean and nasty weather, and we don't want snow!

Wild cats!

Typical kids......

These two found a tunnel in the haystack.  They sit quietly at the entrance until we look at them.

A small glance is okay, but try to move towards them and see what happens.

In the blink of an eye, they are gone!!

This isn't even fun any more......

We'll try a butterfly net next!!

Sorry for the 'blog delay', but we've been trying with all our might to catch the little cats.  This is what happens.....
Sid comes into the shop.  She says something like 'blllluuuuurrrrrpppp? in a calm and melodic voice.  They come running.

We've tried that a million times, and it just doesn't work!!

Cheer up, little cat....:(

Devastated!!  Totally devastated!

Poor Timbit's dream melted away with the spring snow.

The sun came out and the temperature rose. Nothing is left for Tub Bogganing.  Just when she had her life in order, this happened.

Don't be sad, Timbit.

It's only May.  We could still have another foot of snow before winter leaves for good.

Waitin' for the Weekend...

They are shy!!  To say the least!!

When we took this photo two weeks ago, the kittens were timid, yet inquisitive.

Now we have to sneak into the shop and sit for twenty minutes before they'll come out.

This weekend, Saturday will be "Kitten Taming Day".  If we can catch them, we can tame them.

Double the fun!!

If one cat in the pail wasn't surprising enough, there turned out to be TWO!!

No wonder that thing was so heavy!!

And yes, these are Sid's kids - one tan and one tabby.

Sid usually nurses 6 or 7 kittens, so you can imagine how well fed these two are with no competition for feeding stations.

Part of the "Occupy" movement???!!

Something seemed terribly wrong as I picked up the pail to fetch some oats and feed the horses.

Oh My Gosh!!

It mewed!!

Upon closer inspection, I saw something very small and very cute occupying the horse pail.

Soar like and eagle!!

Last year, OT banned all tub bogganing because the tub was deemed to be unsafe.  Well, Timbit found a perfectly safe and reliable tub and has named it

Tub Boggan!!

She asked a few cats to demonstrate position and form while keeping wind resistance in mind.

With Bumble Butt in the back end, that little uplift in the front may create balance and this thing could possibly come off that hill and become airborne!!

Timbit's Dream....

Timbit spent April 30th brain storming in the Mansion since it was snow storming outside.  This morning, May 1st, she walked out and formulated an idea.

Looking far up the hill north of the Sports Field, she saw a dream come true!!

There on the road she saw two perfect tracks.  Now, all she needs is a toboggan and some cats to ride on it.
